The Foundation for Evolution and Mental Health is a registered UK charity dedicated to promoting research and education on evolutionary perspectives on mental health and disorder. It is governed by its trustees, with the support of its advisory board and other volunteers.

Our Team

Day-to-day work is coordinated by Adam Hunt and Christian Cole, who are leading strategic development of the charity.

Adam Hunt, PhD.

Chair and Operations
FEMH founding chair, Adam is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge investigating the impact of evolutionary explanations of mental disorders. He received his PhD in evolutionary psychiatry from the University of Zurich in 2024. He has published multiple academic articles in evolutionary psychiatry and hosts the Evolving Psychiatry podcast. He has served on the executive committee of the Evolutionary Psychiatry Special Interest Group of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2019.

Christian Cole, CFA

Strategy Lead Christian spent seventeen years in equity investing, launching and scaling fund strategies with a strong track record. He worked at Pacific Asset Management, Dominion Funds, Sanford C. Bernstein, Royal Capital Management, and Standard Chartered Bank. His research has been widely cited and published in professional books. He has turned his career towards creating lasting impact in mental health, leading strategic development at FEMH. Christian is now working on translational research in mismatch interventions to treat depression and anxiety. He is a CFA charter holder and holds a BSc Economics from the University of London.
